Does anyone have information on the following Hocking County EVANS family line? Jacob Evans married Ellen GRIFFITH in the late 1870s. (aka: Ellie, Ella, Allie, Ally.../Griffin, Greffe, Greffey, Griffey, Griffy, Greffeth,...) Jacob EVANS and Ellen GRIFFITH lived in Vinton County, Ohio and eventually settled in Hocking County, Ohio at Sand Run. They had these known children: Rhoda*, Martha, Earnest L., John, Mattie, Mearl/Murl/Merrill,William, David, Lizzie. Rhoda is my ancestor. Rhoda married David ALLGOOD then Charles E. Pickett. I am looking for the marriage record of Jacob and Ellen and the names of Ellen's parents.
John WILKINSON married a "Phillis" (?), and lived in Hocking County until his death in 1850. They had three sons: Thomas, John Jr., and Aaron. All I know about John Sr. is that he died in 1850 in Hocking County and his brother Nicholas married his widow "Phillis" a couple of years later in Athens County, Ohio. I am looking for the names of John's and "Phillis" parents and their marriage record.
William STALDER married Jane ROSE in Hocking County on June 5, 1844. Jane is the daughter of William Rose of Hocking County who died there in 1863. I am looking for William Stalder's parent's names. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

LANNING
I'm looking for any information about g-g-grandfather JAMES LANNING who moved from PA to the area now known as Oreville, Hocking Co, about 1825-30. JAMES b. Somerset Co. PA abt 1802 & emigrated to Ohio with his brother JOSEPH. I calculate James' death about 1894, but do not know where. One of James children (reputed to have had 24 with two wives) probably was JOHN LANNING, who lived in Perry Co. most of his adult life and married Sarah Johnson. JOHN died between 1880-1900, though neither Perry or Hocking has death records for him. Would like to verify father/son relationshiip. Am glad to share any Lanning info I have, which traces back to PA, NJ, Long Island NY to mid-1600s. Thanks, Arlene Sampson

I am searching for George W. MILLER born about 1813 in Hocking Co. Ohip He married Margaret WEAVER. born about 1817. They married in Hocking County abt. 1838 /1839. Their daughter Elizabeth and son Joseph were born in Hocking Co. about 1845/46 they moved to Iowa.

William who married Jane Miller 1833 in Harrison. They had John, Shambert, Nancy, William. Jane dies and William remarries to Nancy Ferguson Mason. They have Martha, Malissa, Sarah, Alma. Shortly before 1862 they move to Wisconsin and thier last son George is born. William is believed to have been killed in the war in 1864. William may have been from Butler County, Ohio and those CHAMBERS from N.J./Pa.

I am looking for information on the BOWEN family in Logan, Hocking Co. These family members all appeared on the 1910 census in Logan: Clarrinda (WEBSTER) BOWEN, her son Sherman BOWEN, the Robert Christopher BOWEN family, Cora A. BOWEN (who married a Pearl ALLEN), and Harry BOWEN and Hollis BOWEN. Isaac BOWEN (Clarrinda's husband) also came with the family to Logan, but he does not appear in the 1910 census. Thank you

According to 1880 Census, my ggrandfather, William Rossell HOSKINS, lived with his uncle, Joseph R. HOSKINS (Catherine TRIMMER)in Washington Twp. William's parents were Samuel Harvey and Sarah Jane SHERFICK. William married Ida Catherine (Katherine) BAINTER and their first son, Harvey Porter HOSKINS, my grandfather, was born in Washington Twp. The family moved to New Straitsville, Perry Co., shortly after where the rest of the children were born. Samuel Harvey and Sarah Jane were also in New Straitsville and are buried there. Johw W. Butterworth md Elizabeth Bumgardner Aug 20, 1876 in Hocking Co. They had four son's all born in or around Carbon Hill and Nelsonville. I have not been able to find anything on the Bumgardner side that connects with John & Elizabeth. I found an death record for an Elizabeth Butterworth for Dec 22, 1887 and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville. Elizabeth's parent's were Levi & Sarah Corwin. I am looking for information about ISAAC WALTON b. abt. 1830-1840. His wife's maiden name was PETTY or PELTY. They had a daughter, Anna, b. 10 March 1861 in Hocking Co. Anna married Jacob Hosler in 1890. Jacob had been m. twice before he m. Anna. His second wive's maiden name was Sowers. I have Anna's death certificate but her mother's maiden name is not clear. I also got a death certificate for Isaac F. Walton of Hocking Co. b. 2 Feb. 1865 hoping he was Anna's brother. However, his parents were William Walton and Elizabeth Jewell.
