Stewart DUGHMAN / DUCHMAN family
Seeking info on the Stewart DUGHMAN / DUCHMAN family. (Bare with me; he died in Hocking Co.) He was in the 1850 census fo Salt Creek T., Pickaway Co., age 23 b. PA; 1860 Saltcreek T., Pickaway Co. & wf Elizabeth J. He age 35 b. OH; Elizabeth apparently died before 1870. Where was she buried? 1870 Saltcreek T., Pickaway Co. age 45 b. OH. He is by himself as a farm laborer in the John STROUSE household, and his several children are listed with various family and others. 1872 he married Elizabeth COOK. 1880 Saltcreek T., Pickaway Co. age 56 b. OH, parents b. PA wf Elizabeth and several children back in the household again. Stewart died 17 Jun 1895 in Laurelville, Hocking Co. perhaps at the home of Jacob DRUM or perhaps one of Stewart's children? There was a definite tie between Stewart DUGHMAN and Jacob & Susannah DRUM and also George & Matilda (DUGHMAN) DRUM. Is there any possibility there was an obituary for Stewart DUGHMAN in 1895? I'd like to know what became of Stewart's children. Were his parents John DUGHMAN & Elizabeth (unk) who were in Clear Creek T., Fairfield Co. in 1830, Perry T., Fairfield Co. in 1840? I suspect she was Matilda's mother. Who were the other siblings of Stewart? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone knowing anything about any of this DUGHMAN family. Thanks. Ann Brickner

Mr. J.E. Barron who may have been a Commissioner of Hocking County
Hi, Back about 1955 while traveling through east Alabama to Atlanta, I stopped at a roadside Antigua store where I bought a spool cabinet of the multi-drawered type earlier used in country stores to hold spool thread. In the process of examining the cabinet after arriving home, I found a letter dated 1910 had been trapped behind the drawers. It had been written by a Mr. J.E. Barron who may have been a Commissioner of Hocking County at the time. I believe he referred to his wife as "Netta" and his son may have been "W.S.." possibly, "Willie" who may have been living in Rockbridge, Ohio at the time. It is a simple letter just telling the son how things were back home with his family in Hocking County; but it is interesting. I was wondering if this Barron family still had descendants living in Hocking County. Best regards, Bill Ingram

Madison and wife had two sons and a dau. named Mary DENISON, who married her second cousin, Elias LEGGETT. Soon after this purchase he married Elizabeth Bressler (also born in PA.) in Fairfield Co., Ohio. John Henry had at least 9 children, but 3 or 4 died young. The surviving sons were Joseph (b. 1815), John (b. 1817), and Henry (b.1819 or 1820). John Henry (Cliinger) Klinger died in 1849 and is buried in the Antioch Church Cemetery near Enterprise along with his sister Elizabeth Beougher and her husband, Benjamin (where is John Henry`s wife, Elizabeth, buried??). John Henry`s son, John, who married Mary Prough, is buried in the Union Chruch Cemetery, Falls Twp. near where he later had land southwest of Logan. Robert MITCHELL
Looking for any information on the family of Robert MITCHELL. Robert was married to Sarina A WRIGHT (called Annie). I can't find where he came from or where he went after the death of his wife in Grover Hill, Ohio in 1892. Annie died of child bed fever after the birth of twins. Their daughter Maude was 3 years old at this time (1892). Robert may have died shortly after Annie. I received information from Social Security which says Maude was born in Logan, Ohio. The family must have gone from Logan to Grover Hill. Maude was raised in Grafton, Ohio. One of the twins, Catherine (called Catie) died at 6 months of age in Grover Hill and the other twin Calvin was raised in what we call foster homes in Grover Hill. I will appreciate any information anyone has on the MITCHELL family in Logan. Janice

My Cain URL is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~brandt/index.htm I am looking for anyone researching John Caine and wife Elizabeth Brandt Mouler Caine. He born about 1794 in Pennsylvania according to census records and that is all I have to go on at this time. Don't know where in PA. or who his parents or sibs were. GOLDSBOROUGH
Looking for help locating information on the Van & Katie GOLDSBOROUGH listed in the 1900 Hocking Co census. The dau. Barbara (aka--Cheta) mar'd a Charles (or Chuck)BROWN, the Van listed as a nephew, was in reality their granson, the son of Van & Kate's son John B. GOLDSBOROUGH. Another dau. Julia was apparently already mar'd to a James LOPER, they appear in the 1920 Hocking Co census. Need to see if Van & Kate are in the 1910 census, or had they died or moved, Did John B. marry in Hocking Co and to who? In 1900 census Van his son, listed as being born in 1891 so John must have been mar'd bef that, or could that have been misread and been 1897? John B. mar'd what is beleived to be the 2nd time in 1902/03 Kanawha Co,WV (my husbands line from this marriage). He was also suppose to have been in vaudville for awhile? The last name of this family has been found spelled several differant forms: GOLDSBOROUGH, GOLDSBERRY, GOLDSBURGH, GOULDSBOROUGH, and possibly GOLDSBORO. There is also suppose to have been a cousin by the name of IRENE McLEAN/McLAIN/McLAN, where she fist in we have no idea? Would appreciate any help, information, nad/or leads on information as to these families. If anyone has a connection would very much like to exchange information with you. Thank you very much........Vicki
