BURNELL

I am looking for information on the BURNELL family in Hocking County.  Patrick BURNELL appears in the 1880 census in Ward Twp with a 12-year-old born in PA and a 10-year-old child born in Ohio (bracketing his migration to Ohio).  I am stone-walled on the search for my grandfather Roy Wheeler BURNELL in Pennsylvania in 1894, but doesn't appear in 1880 or 1900 censuses.  I am trying to interact with descendants of BURNELLs who were born in Ireland to try to solve this mystery.  Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thomas and Zipporah Spurbeck Davis are listed in the Hocking county 1880 census. Their daughter Olive married William Mitchell there in 1881. On William's death record it says he was born in Licking county in 1854 to an Unknown Mitchell and an Unknown Fay. Who were his parents? Zipporah's sister Elizabeth Spurbeck was married to Abraham James Mitchell of Ireland they also lived in Hocking county. Is there any connection between James and William? On the 1900 Hocking county census William says his father was born in Ohio and his mother in New York. There are Fay's listed in Hocking and Athens county who were born in New York. Does anyone have any answers out there for me? There is a Mary Mitchell listed in the 1860 Licking county Hanover twp. census with a son William age 3 and a son Amos. Then there is a Marreitta Mitchell in the 1880 Athens county census with a son William. And a neigbor Amos Mitchell. Is this them? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. TUCKER

John H TUCKER was appointed postmaster in Nelsonville Ohio abt 1848. His estate appears in Hocking Co OH in 1849. Unfortunately in his estate file there are only receipts & newspaper ads & inventory of effects. From the contents of his estate is appears that he may have been a Doctor or apothocary. He does not appear in the 1840 census in Hocking or Athens Co. There is no mention of any living relatives nor of any transaction of land involving any relatives in the conclusion of the estate, and it is not very clear how the estate was taken care of.... There was a H John Tucker in the 1820 census of Athens Co. There is also a John H Tucker in Richland Co OH in 1830 and I believe in 1840. The possible children of John H Tucker marry mostly in Athens Co after 1830 and into the 1840's (so why would the children all be in Athens Co & the father be in Richland Co?). Most of them appear in the census in Ohio in 1850. There is a burial record for a John H Tucker in 4th St cem in Nelsonville? in 1849, but, the age give would be much too young for H John from Athens Co in 1820. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.
